3 space-saving bathroom storage ideasfeatured
One of busiest spots in the house is also usually among the tightest. Need space-saving tips for the bathroom? (You’re in great company.) Read on!
Space-saving tip #1: Perfectly sized bins
Oh, Ikea. What can’t you do? These PLUMSA baskets, with their soft (yet sturdy!) ability to separate medicines from bath toys can be jammed into whatever depth and height your closet might require. They’ve got cutie pie handles, too! Got deep shelves that cause towel and sheet piles to topple? I adore these ALGOT baskets (which come separately or part of a mounted system!)- so much so, in fact, that I have one for each type of bed in our household. (And for a Real Simple tip from about a decade ago? Store matching linens inside one of the pillowcases and then store those together. No more digging through unwieldy king-sized sheets to find that matching twin pillowcase with the unicorn. In theory.)
Space-saving tip #2: Separate the small stuff
I’ve definitely mentioned this tip before, but it bears repeating. (Besides, Birchbox boxes are so cute!) For supplies you use on the daily, it’s nice to have them on hand…but not in your face. Boxes like these are modular (and the lids let them stack!), but anything like this that can be slipped into a drawer will help to avoid the craziness of everything for your morning routine jumbled together. (Save the chaos for your commute, amiright?)
Space-saving tip #3: Redefine “bathroom”
And one of my favorite tricks to get more storage into the bathroom…is to take the storage outta the bathroom! I love love love this secondhand cabinet we picked up years ago, and it’s been acting as an upstairs linen closet and much-needed storage for a tiny bathroom sadly lacking in both. Once I realized that space-saving help could exist right outside the bathroom door, it opened up a world of possibilities. Got a cute end table being under-appreciated elsewhere? Pop it against the hallway wall and enjoy your new en-suite-itude.
